This year we chose to present an eco story …of course:-)) to our parents as a conclusion of our school year and our project..
‘The dirty-village’
Where trees are sick! Houses are dirty …and people ignore all are happening around because the major convinced them to put on Black glasses!! So that they consider all are ok.. But children can’t play or make their homework with black glasses, so they decide to ACT.. with the support of 2 Firemen in one night they manage to make their village clear and alive again… and the major offers them the key of the village, to the firemen as well the medal of ‘thought and action’ to the kids…

We decided to plant an Olive Tree. We don’t have any at our school although it’s a traditional tree in Portugal. We also planted a Strawberry Tree – you can find some information about it here.

We planted the trees, sang a song about protecting forests and we measured each tree to register their height. We will watch them growing, while caring for them.

We speak with the children about the water cycle.
Water is very important for humans, animals and plants.
We try to save water.
It is also important that we do not pollute the water.

Hi everyone from Kaparelli..
Kids and I have chosen 1 almond tree to join this event today..because kids say ” it smells wonderful” … ” Almonds are delicious:-)) ” and our school will look more beautiful in the Spring with this tree” … So…it was a nice experiance our planting as well keeping an eye at our BLOG and seeing our common action! pupils were enthousiastic about seeing your schools doing the same..

AN INVITATION

ENO Programme invites you to an exciting event. We will plant trees at midday, in every corner of the world. The first trees will be planted at noon in Oceania. Following the Sun, new trees will be put to earth in Asia, Europe and Africa. Finally this chain of trees will reach Americas. Globe has turned on its axis. Trees will be planted on May 22nd. This day is also known as World Biodiversity Day by United Nations.

Tree planting is important for us. Firstly, it reminds us of the nature and the importance of environmental protection. Secondly, it is a symbol for the international co-operation. This event has become a success. Last year 2 000 schools in 122 countries planted 300 000 trees around ENO Tree Planting Day. We have also other activities: a special tree planting play (translated into over 40 languages!), tree planting songs etc.
